That was really cute. I particularly liked this: Or maybe it’s as simple as Dean going through a phase. Other kids have imaginary friends. Dean has imaginary possessions. Nice way to go about the prompt!

There is much to like in this. Firstly, I love John being so patient. We don't often see that in fan fic (or canon for that matter) Secondly, I like that John really listens to Dean, helps in work the problem through. Of course it becomes a lesson, but that is John too. Thirdly, I love that John's pride in both boys is obvious. D'ya think I like John much.

Nah, you don't like John at all! LOL! I don't either!

When I wrote this I was thinking about how to make John respond. He could just dimiss it as nonsense, or he could play along and try to teach Dean a thing or two along the way.
