I am not going to read Kite Runner. Sorry, lady at work that gave it to me, and the rest of the world that made it the most-read Goodreads book of 2007. Actually, not sorry. Life is too short to read Kite Runner ( Read more... )

He wrote back! I got it today at work. It was a novella. He was nice, not very creepy, and said funny ghetto things. He's in for selling drugs, to feed his family. Or so he SAYS.

Oh man. I cannot imagine Atonement in that state of mind. So intense!

I think our entire generation has a condition that makes us all tired all the time.

I also think it's hilarious that your dad walks like a robot to embarrass his girlfriend. So funny!

Yeah! It's weird. Like MySpace for prisoners. I picked this one: http://www.writeaprisoner.com/Template.aspx?i=z-189188. Just because he didn't sound crazy, and wasn't anywhere near Michigan.

ive been sort of thinking about doing the penpal inmate thing as well! that website is a little strange, so many of the "ads" seem to be like, relationship ads! how did you chose someone?

They do seem to be a little too trashy, like personal ads. What is up with that?! What kind of person goes to the prisoner website for a hookup? I picked somebody that didn't sound nuts, and was far away from Michigan. I got a really heartfelt letter today, which was totally exciting. He said he dropped everything right away to write back.

seriously when i read your LJ entry, my heart just swelled! ive always been interested in the whole "prison pen pal" concept, and youve just convinced me to do it. im gonna find a non-booty-call, and send a letter.
