LOL 17 of the books I read made it on the 1001 list. I need to read more. XD
It's only recent that my love for reading emerged. Most of my fav are already read by many people:

Joseph Heller: Catch-22
Italo Calvino: Invisible Cities
Hermann Hesse: Siddartha, Demian
Albert Camus: The Plague, The Outsider (aka the Stranger)
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry: The Little Prince
Orson Scott Card: Ender's Shadow
Maria McCann: As Meat Loves Salt

On my list of to-read:
Kite Runner, At Swim-Two boys, Steppenwolf, Jane Eyre

Thanks for the suggestions, Thy! ♥ Little Prince ;3; I can reread that book over and over and over and not get tied of it. And ahh~ I think I will have to prioritize Catch-22 because Spoon recommended it too! HAHAHAH XDD

I only got 0.5% in that list! DX sundaecone May 19 2008, 10:38:06 UTC
American Gods by Neil Gaiman

It's, unfortunately, not included in the epic 1001 list. DX
But I love this book to absolute bits. If only they could release a Harper Collins edition because the Harper Torch one is a pain in the ass to read due to it's thickness. XD
As much as I want to pimp Anansi Boys... I really enjoyed American Gods more. >_<

Veronika Decides to Die by Paulo Coehlo
By The River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept by Paulo Coehlo

I LOVE Paulo Coehlo. I'm in the process of reading up Smoke & Mirrors by Neil Gaiman, then I'm reading Paulo Coehlo's The Alchemist. Then I have to hunt for a copy of Good Omens. DX I swear I'll be broke because of books before I could get a new job. NOT GOOD.

I forgot to include:
Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption by Stephen King
You can read the book or watch the movie.. either way. I enjoyed it, and I hope you would too.

Let me know if you want to read this, I have a copy of this ebook somewhere. XD And I LOVELOVELOVELOVELOVE this book. This is one of those rare books wherein, I watched the movie first then read the book and found that I liked both. ♥

If you're into fantasy... (as in LoTR-ish) this is a very very light LoTR-ish novel
Eldest by Christopher Paolini
I didn't like Eragon, book 1, that much... I think Eldest was way better. There are parts of the book that made me feel like I'm reading a fanfiction or sumten. o_O SRSLY. Book 3 is yet to be released. Ugh.

Left Behind Series by LaHaye and JenkinsThis is a weird and long series. It's the book of Revelations turned into a novel. It's a really interesting take on Revelations since, well if you've read the book of Revelations, they took the "plagues" literally. I like this series... but I haven't finished reading it. ( ... )

I reread books that I love too. Pride and Prejudice (all-time fave lovestory, and 2005 movie rocks like whoa MR DARCY YOU ARE HOTTTT), Sophie's World at Little Prince ang parating victims pag dating dito. (Dahil parati kong dala yung P&P ko nawala ko sya--that or may nanghiram tas nakalimutan kong kuhanin ulit haha vague memory)

Uy, may mga Left Behind na libro sa Book Sale dito sa SMBicutan at sa MOA napansin ko. I've read the premise waaaaay back dati pa and I find it interesting but not really sure if it's any good but now that you say it is then I SHALL TRY!!! :DDD

Stephen King... The only novel I've read from him was The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon O_____O and some short stories. XD;;

I find Banana Yoshimoto's books a bit too expensive in our country =_=;; But she did already catch my attention a long time ago and I did want to try finishng her books (I always start reading books at bookstores). Now that you've mentioned that her works are indeed 'must read's I shall try my best to get my hands on one. I'll be starting with Tsugumi then~
