[ For a second he thinks of Cobb, but the voice is far too different. He leaves the die lying face up with a four and turns his attention to his visitor, who looks nothing like Cobb. ]

[ This is Ariadne we're talking about, so she of course manifests on the edge of the shore, close enough to the waves that they splash against the top of her boots. Curiously, she gazes toward Arthur and the desk, staring at him in close study before she takes her first step.

[ He at least recognizes that voice, as long ago it seems that he last heard it. It's startling, to say the least. He pockets his die and follows the sound of the voice to find Ariadne just outside. ]
