Decoration took about four solid hours, I think. Maybe I should start a little cake decorating sideline... seriously, though, it's been one of my random thoughts.
No idea what I'm wearing for the wedding! I'm usually a darker colours kinda gal, so wedding-wear is not something I have a lot of. I do have quite a bold, bright red summer dress which might be fun to wear, though! May be a bit too bold though ;) I could combine it with a paler coloured jacket/cardigan or something. I don't have many red clothes, but I'm beginning to think it might be a good colour for me.
My sis has sent me links to some cool websites that sell all sorts of cake decorating stuff. You can buy edible silver paint! I'm sure I could find a use for that.
LOL - oh totally. I've seen gold paint as well, though I doubt it's really gold!
I think it's less about the color than the style, honestly - and how everyone else is dressed. If everyone else is coiming in darker or brighter colors, then why not?
Besides, you're the sister of the bride, you can get away with a lot more than your average guest. :)
I do know what you mean about light vs. dark colors - I tend to wear a lot of black, purple, red, green, blue... and I have always dreaded those moments when you feel that social pressure to wear pastels. A really nice, greyish sage green or powdery blue or greyish lavender seems to be a nice compromise point...
Why not build a portfolio of pictures to show clients, then post a little ad online? craigslist.org is free... :)
Yep, I'm going to enjoy pulling the bride's-sister card ;)
I think I might do some more decorating on bought cakes so I can try out new things and photo them. Maybe I could colaborate with a friend of mine who's good at baking... I'm not bad, but if we could get something going together, it might be fun.
