As someone who doesn't have kids but is someone's kid, all I can say is: Because you show concern for your child's well-being, because you wonder every step of the way if what you're doing is right for him, what you're doing is right enough for him. All that matters is love and the attempt to do right by it. I know you know that, but I think it doesn't hurt to have someone else reinforce that idea.

He's lucky to have you both, and you're both lucky to have him, and you know that, so you're miles ahead of a lot of people.

You have to do whatever it takes for your baby to get the sleep necessary. If that's tending to his every squeak, then do that. If it's putting him down to cry after 20 minutes or so of soothing so he can learn to sleep on his own, then do that ( ... )

Everybody says/tells us that the crying is supposed to taper off. He was at four months. After over a week, he rarely cried for less than 10 min. So we just couldn't do it to him any longer. I put him back in bed w/us. I'm completely sleep-deprived b/c he nurses all night long, but he's happier & husband gets more sleep this way b/c he's not aware of any night waking.

So be it. Two in the house getting good sleep at least.

Good to hear from you!
