I had a nice day planned today. damashita was off to Snoqualmie to provide professional feedback for a friend who is in massage school, and while she was doing that, I was going to take pictures at the Northwest Railway Museum and/or Snoqualmie Falls. Went past the museum and was headed to the Falls- to get a feel for the time it'd take to go from one to ( Read more... )

I love you so very much. I am so glad you are still on this earth and so thankful the outcome of this accident has left you walking, talking, and still on this plane of existance. I love you!

I was visiting a friend & preparing to get a massage (she's in massage school) while he was out exploring the area in preparation for a morning of photographic exploration. Thank Gods the kids were with my mom & stepdad, not in the car with him!

My very first vehicle, a 1987 Toyota pickup truck, met a similar demise. It was parked on the side of the road in front of my house, at the end of a curve in the road. A girl who had just gotten her license three days before came around the bend in a mid-90's Dodge Spirit, doing about 40. She was driving into the sun, which was pretty low, and she plowed right into the back left corner of the truck. Spun the truck around, which hit the curb, went airborne, and didn't stop til it hit a crabapple tree ten feet into the yard. Thankfully I wasn't in the truck at the time, or reaching in to get something.

Glad you're alright; keep an eye out for pain in the neck and back, and maybe see a chiropractor just in case?

Neck and back are already achey, and I'm taking at least the morning off work tomorrow to go get my damages assessed by the chiropractor.

You're gonna be sore for awhile, that's hydrostatic shock and it's normal, but you can cut a few days off the achey time with a good long soak in a hot tub or bath if you don't have a hot tub handy.

Hope you're back at 100% quickly, have wheels again soon and the insurance company is on top of it.

I presume police were called, insurance info exchanged, etc..etc..?

I'm very glad your car protected you as much as it did. I second Sarmonster's recommendation of a long soak...put epsom salts in it and it will do wonders for the more superficial aching. And definitely keep your eye on how you are feeling in the next week or so. Glad you'll be getting into a chiropractor soon.

Ack!!!

Glad to hear you are feeling okay so far, and sad to see that poor Branwen may not have survived today's adventure.

Re: the pics above? The thing that impresses me most is that there's no visible broken glass in them. Frame warped, doors popped, (and stereo in the back seat,) but non of the windows shattered. Colour me utterly sold on the safety of Volvo's.

Careful of delayed reactions, though, they can and do leap out and surprise you when you think you've gotten it sorted.
