...WOW. I'd be mad if I worked for them.

Unfortunately, it's nothing new. It sounds a lot like most big corporations. One I worked for in the past did (and still does) follow similar practices.

It was never like that when I worked there. It still sucked, but at least there was no pay capping. There were people who'd been there 20-something years and made some darn good money!

I hope youre right and some things have changed since then, but seeing what I do when Brunie drags me there I'm not holding my breath. :(

Another reason to vote for Obama. He's supporting a bill that would make it easier for employees to unionize. If that ever happens, Wal-Mart will be in a world of hurt.

As much as that company is run with cold hearts, I have to admit it's likely the reason they are such strong competitors (business-wise) and their prices are so cheap on stuff. So it's kind of a catch-22. Do you care more about the humanity and compassion factor towards the workers or do you care more about getting products insanely cheap compared to everywhere else? Since I can't stand shopping there unless I have to, I'm personally inclined to be more for better working conditions. But I can see both sides, kinda.

Having had worked there, I vote for humanity. I see both sides, but you can always get cheaply priced stuff at Dollar General and whatnot. As for groceries, Schnucks has better food anyway, both taste wise and overall cost wise.
