My aching head....

Well, we're back from the engagement party and boy, do I feel like a$$! I have had one of those dull headaches that just does not leave the entire day, I'm exhausted, dehydrated, and Connecticut has now experienced its second snowstorm of the year -- yuck! But aside from my whining and complaining, we had a great weekend and the engagement party ( Read more... )

Hi! I followed you over from Lauren's (Trp4life) journal. That engagement party sounds like it was a lot of fun! I quickly scanned through your journal and love that you went the all-black/sparkly accessory route instead of the cranberry turtleneck. Much more chic, don't you think? Have a fantastic time in Chicago this week! Oh, and I love that you are a proud WINO...me too!!! Hope to learn some new wine tips from you.

Anyhoo, I've friended you and hope you do the same. :)

Hey Elaine! Thanks for stopping by! Ha -- I did stick with the all black ensemble as in the end, I was too lazy to haul myself back to BR and do the exchange.

I don't know how many tips I can give on wine, but have you seen the book "Oldman's Guide to Outsmarting Wine" by Mark Oldman? (Sorry, I haven't figured out how to link yet.) I bought it ages ago, forgot about it, and am now attempting to start reading it again. It seems very basic and actually interesting to read!

Anyway, I'm friending you too and going to check out your journal in a few!

Yay! Glad that novelnewleyweds brought us together and that Elaine followed you over too. She's a great LJ buddy as I'm sure you're already learning ;)

I started the online bookclub for the same reason you listed! I too am in a bookclub in "real-life" and the books they pick are usually ones I'd like to read but not necessarily discuss thoroughly. I see a book club as a good opportunity to challenge yourself to read things either more difficult or out of your typical comfort-zone/interests. Glad we all found each other! I picked up the book that looks like it will win today (#4).

I'm with Elaine, love the all-black look. A classic! I love the pin you put with the turtleneck!

I totally share your sentiments re: how a book club is a great way to introduce yourself to books you normally wouldn't read! I'm picking up the new book tomorrow to read on my way to Chicago -- looks like a good one!

Haha! Looks like such a fun trip. I LOVE the champagne bottle in the hotel sink, such a great shot :)

I think it was the plastic ice bucket that truly added an element of class.... :)
