Five Times Fic? anonymous April 4 2010, 05:52:18 UTC
I've been in an angsty mood lately, so:

Five times Johnny spoke at Stéphane's funeral and one time he spoke at their wedding.

Break my heart and fix it, anon.

OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD.

The sad thing is that I'm kind of tempted to do this, even though I know that writing the first five would make me cry uncontrollably.

I have to do this, because the idea keeps making me tear up at random moments and people probably think I'm crazy, and I need to get it out of my system, so watch this space

I feel terrible for wanting this so much and being so grateful for you filling it. I feel your pain, though- I thought of it in the shower and all the different ways it could go, and I just lost it. Thank you!

(This is a different anon than the one who posted yesterday... I had already started writing this but didn't think to claim it or anything. >.< This is my first fic, so I'm not sure what the protocol is - sorry if I'm breaking any rules, but here's Part 1 (aka the first time) anyways ( ... )

Not the OP but oh God, anon, I love you. I've got tears streaming down my face, this was so well written and I could feel the emotions like they were my own.
I really want to see what else you're going to write, you can never have too many fills of a prompt anyway. Just please keep posting.

Other author!anon here. No worries, I'm taking a different approach, so people will just end up with twice the angst in two different styles. Hooray(?) (I didn't really mean to claim it, just to let the OP know that someone was working on it, so they had something to look forward too.)

There's a very sweet sort of drifting quality to this... I don't know if that makes sense, but the style and tone mesh really well. Please continue

Wow. Just... I don't think I have words. Something about this was just so raw and painful, while everything around is so sweet. Thank you so much for filling this, and so beautifully at that. (Sorry if I'm barely coherent. I just love this so much.)

Oh, my heart. I love this prompt. I always adore Stephane-related (but not always him angsting) angst. I love the fact that there are going to be two fills!

Pt. 2/6 anonymous April 8 2010, 16:00:22 UTC
2. Like a network of cells, the attendees at Stéphane's funeral stood in shifting groups with occasional members traveling in between. Johnny, frightened of their connections to Stéphane, hovered at the edge of the glade. Initially, he had welcomed their telephone calls. They vicariously resurrected his lover for him in one more tour bus trip, one more childhood antic. When he envisioned Stéphane during these mental constructions, it seemed as if Stéph really lived again and it was he, Johnny, whose spirit had become discarnate - a pale shadow hanging nebulously in the air, hopping through time to watch Stéphane live. Johnny relished experiences that he hadn't seen firsthand, for they bore the novelty of real life. But nonetheless, he was still grateful to watch Stéphane interact with the doppelganger of himself (although who was really the doppelganger, Johnny wondered ( ... )

2nd Fill (the day never ends, even when the light is gone) 1/? anonymous April 9 2010, 17:00:42 UTC
10am

When it happens, it happens. A lot of people don't realise this, but death is hard work. There's the body to identify, release papers to sign, friends and family to inform, decisions to make, to organise .....Johnny knows this of course. He is calm, dry-eyed when Stephane's family cries on his shoulder. He is composed when the media frenzy throws the world into mourning and offers the right amount of personal grief and respect in front of the press. He calls the lawyers and executors to the will, and still remembers to thank the fans for their continual support over the years. He knows this even as he adjusts the cuffs of his white shirt, dusts the lapels of that black velveteen jacket - Stephane always loved that jacket, the soft richness of velveteen with a hint of sequins edging the base. He would rub his face on it, starting with the shoulder and moving to the neck; nuzzling. Good morning mon cherie and then slide the jacket off him with a wicked smile. He liked it alot. Stephane liked it best when he was wearing that ( ... )
