[With winter already set in, Sanji figures he might as well acclimate to the cold. That means bundled-up walks through paths he still only half-remembers, in-between his shifts at the restaurant. Seeing Raine on one of these paths is -- well, it takes him a long moment to place that face, and then he's caught off-guard by the very large, green... dog.]

Raine-chan? [he says her name, but his attention is pointed at Noishe]

[The "dog" that is certainly large enough to ride, no less, but Raine is walking along with him, holding her staff in her free hand.

She tilts her head when she sees Sanji, pausing in her step. Derek, Yuri, Hermione, now even Sanji. It certainly was a cycle for returns. Seeing him is almost a stark reminder to another.]

Ah ... Sanji.

[Strange, how it almost feels as if it's been longer than the couple of months.] How have you been?

[Once his attention refocuses, he's caught in an awkward pause. He could give her the truth, which would end in a long and painful rant about a two-year trip in "hell"... or he could fudge it a little]

Not bad, for being gone two years! [Fudging it is. He grins loosely and approaches, though albeit carefully]

It's probably not the sort of situation one expects to return to. [But she can count a number of people who have mentioned the two year passage of time, even from her own world. The "dog" whines a little, but stays put by Raine's side for now, just watching Sanji's approach.] I imagine it must have been disorienting, not having the passage of time from here and there match up.

Honestly, it's still disorienting. [Because he shouldn't be here. There should be nothing to remember.] There are still some names I can't remember... faces I should recognize...

[He comes to a stop when the "dog" whines, his stare bouncing between him and Raine] I don't suppose it's friendly?

I see... that's certainly understandable. [She doesn't envy that position either... and having been there for so long, she can't even imagine being in it.]

Oh, you mean Noishe? He just gets nervous fairly easily around strangers to him. [She places her free hand on the 'dog's' back to calm him.] Noishe, it's all right. This is Sanji.

It's alright. I won't come any closer. [He waves at Noishe, hoping to exude some manner of friendliness]

Is Noishe a... dog?

He was referred to as a dog by someone for a long time, but no, not exactly. He's a very unique creature.

He looks like it. [It's a compliment, actually. Noishe is one hell of a sight. Sanji looks impressed]

I'm surprised an animal like that would feel nervous around anyone.

[Raine chuckles softly.] Indeed. I suppose looks can be deceiving, in this case. [She glances between them.] He hasn't tried running away yet, so I think he's accepted your presence.

[In that case, he attempts a few more steps forward - cautiously, for Noishe's sake more than his]

Is he from your world?

Yes, that's right. He has been a companion to a student of mine for a long time. [And to someone else for even longer, though she doesn't quite say that.]

Huh... guess he's like Biri then. [How nice of the Malnosso to send in their pets/furry companions]

[She tilts her head at that.] Biri?

Biri's a... [It takes him a second to gather an answer] Like a duck, the same way Noishe is like a dog.

He's from our world, too. We met him during our travels.

Is that so...? Perhaps I can meet him sometime. [It sounds like something better seen in person. And other creatures are pretty interesting to her.]

Was he still here when you returned, as well?
