[It's a fairly windy day, but with the warm weather lately, it's more welcome than stale air. The past few weeks have been very busy for the healer-- observing the new feather cycle, schoolwork, assisting with Legato's surgery, capturing Mithos, looking after Derek--among other assorted events, leaving her less time for herself

[ buffy is heading towards the house on a sort of mini-mission. she wants to find albert -- to ask him some pointed questions, to get some advice.

however -- perhaps the strategist isn't home? perhaps buffy will have to confront someone she's been avoiding a little too much, recently. ]

[ It's Raine, not Albert, that Buffy will find outside in the garden. It's still too early for any harvesting, and the herbs, flowers and vegetables seem to be growing nicely.

She sees the blonde's approach from the corner of her eye as she rises, turning her head toward her ever avoiding friend. ] ... ah, Buffy. I didn't expect to see you.

Y-yeah. You too.

[ ... ] I mean -- that's not what I meant. Just...is Albert around? This isn't a bad time, is it?

[ ... oh. ]

If he's not in his room, he might be over by the stables. [ She's been out and about during the day, so she hadn't properly seen him since breakfast. ] Is there anything I can help with?

[The library you say? Well Bruce is gonna be there. He's just been reading book after book after book trying to get more information about this place. And by the bags under his eyes it doesn't seem like he's gotten a lot of sleep. He notices Raine there though. Who is... actually someone he wanted to speak to wow.]

Uh, excuse me. Is your name, Miss Raine? [Wow, that was an unintentional rhyme. That made him sound way more stupid then he wanted it to, but he didn't really feel comfortable saying her full name since... he kind of got it from the journals.] I mean, are you the one who wrote the New Feather guide?

Hm? [ She looked toward the source of the voice; an unfamiliar face, and the slightly haggard look is noticed. ] Yes, that's right. Do you need some assistance?

[Oh good. It seems like she was used to this kind of thing.]

Well-- yes. Sort of. I was just wondering if you were capable of communicating with the spirits here. And if so... do you have any tips or suggestions for a newbie?

Yes, that's right.

The spirits are unique, and require different means of communicating with them. If you aren't sure of what you're getting into, it's better to focus on one at a time. Did you have any specific questions about them? It might be easier for me to answer that way.

[Jack approaches Raine's garden with a package. He has brought her yet another gift to help her get over her fear of water.]

Hallo? Raine, darling?

[ After the last time he dropped in to visit, Raine hadn't been expecting any visits any time soon. So his approach does catch her off guard, much like Buffy's had. ]

Oh... Jack. How have you been?

I've been...[confused, panicked, desperate]...well. And you, love?

[He moves the small package from hand to hand; nervous hands always need some occupation.]

I've been... fine enough. Busy. [As if she'd ever answer any other way. But that nervousness isn't missed.]

... Is something wrong?

[MEANWHILE, as you wander the flower shop-there's a familiar...ish face there, studying all the plants with a sort of wonder that only kids tend to have. Though she's sort of found herself a little task of slowly picking the petals off one flower. :|;;;

Where's Ginko or anyone else? Probably wondering where she vanished to, possibly. NOT IMPORTANT, there are flowers to look at!!!!]

[Eventually you will be noticed, tiny child. Turning her attention from one plant to another, before the glance around to see if anyone needs help-- and there's a familiar face there, though at a considerably lower height than usual.

Curious indeed.] Hmm, so what do you have there?

[EEP. Um. Uuuum.]

[That's what Robert told her they are, anyway.]

That's right. The one you're holding is a flower, called a daisy. [She's not too worried about the petals for the moment, as she can heal the plant later. Or try to.]

[Raine tests out some basic skills--nothing that would intentionally be too destructive on the environment, but more subtle spells-- stone blast, aqua edge. Not too much, because that gets tiring, but more or less seeing how much of the basics she can cast on her own--and if the filial magic could replicate it or enhance it. At least she has a feeling that's what her brother had been trying to do when he was last here.

But she's ready for a break, and there's been that niggling feeling of being watched-- so she cautiously gives a look to the area.]

[She's picked up on the strange mana in the area-- the first glance over almost misses catching his visual location, though she catches it on the second.

Odd, that he doesn't seem to want to be found. Most people usually approach her after something like that... so she's filled with some curiosity.

Maybe pretending that she hadn't noticed him and trying out a few more spells would make him a little less shy. If not, there was always the solution of just approaching him herself.]
