[After taking the Joanna Joyce for a sail, Jack has moored her in her customary spot out by the sandbar---a good quarter mile from shore---and is swimming back to get some lunch at Cullen House. He has reached the point where his feet touch and he can wade the rest of the way to shore when he spots Raine. And he can't quite believe his eyes.]

[ This meeting had to happen eventually, with her making plans to take a few trips out here as it was. Still, she's a little surprised as well, given it's the first time she's seeing the pirate since his return. As it is, she's standing in water that's barely to her ankles.]

Aah... [At first he's a little unnerved by the weird-looking monster, but noticing that it can apparently build sand castles is kind of... well, really cool. Even if it's destroyed in the process. It's the thought that counts.]

I've never seen that thing before. How long has he been there?

I'm not certain, to be honest; he wasn't here the last time I was looking at the beach, but admittedly I don't exactly come here often. I'm sure that if it was for longer than just today others would have made note of it by now...

Does he talk? Maybe we can find out where he lives.

I've tried, but he doesn't seem to want to communicate in that way. He's very responsive, but he seems confused about the area. I have a feeling he might just be lost out here.

[Caesar had wanted to see the ocean, but after about an hour of being here, he doesn't seem very different from his usual self. He's lying down on a blanket, occasionally keeping an eye out for his dog, but mostly trying his best not to fall asleep.

...but it's so difficult. Even with the heat (probably made worse by the fact that he's still wearing a t-shirt), he can't help but feel really drowsy.]

[She had been sitting quietly with her book for a bit, though when she notices that Caesar is actually awake and just dozing, she'll set the page again.] You don't look all that comfortable.

I don't see how something like that could belong to anyone, though. It doesn't exactly look like something you'd keep as a pet.

I've seen stranger as pets here, believe me. It's just a feeling I have, considering some of the students I've had.
