Lowell is having a Jack Kerouac celebration in October and I'm trying to figure out how to get there. If I were to go home for the weekend, I could take the bus from Providence to Lowell, round trip for $38. But that's kind of steep. i'm not quite sure. i know that the beat museum on wheels will be there -- that's where i first heard of this phenomena. the lowell celebrates kerouac site doesn't really say what else is going on. it is a still few months away. *shrugs* are you considering this adventure?

If you don't mind it being an electric one, I'll typewriter-swap with you. I got it for a few bucks to sample it, but the hum of the motor makes it not-useful for me.

sadly, i'm not in the market for an electric. we have an old one in the basement and i refuse to give in and use it. i was looking for an old underwood or remington, preferably circa 1940's-1950's. if you're on the hunt as well, i wish you luck. thanks anyways. :\

Now THAT'S purist. Not only are you using outdated technology, but you're specific about it. That's ok, I'm starting to use cassettes, even though I've got some schmancy digital stuff.
