after my hellish week of training, many 14 hour days and studying for stupid menu and server tests.. i had my first real shift tonight and made and whopping $32. hooray. for how exhausted i am, and how skinny my pocketbook is... well. i'm depressed as fuck and i'm drinking whiskey by myself

you are so right, I had a hell first week too, but the thing is, your tips do get better, and soon three and four tables will be a breeze, I can make about $100 a night sometimes, and that's great for only like 7 hours.

you'll get use to it, but I know how you feel.
