We're about to start a unit on Colonial literature. Should be fun. (And I should be lesson planning right now. ;)

We're basically going in chronological order. Tomorrow I'm starting the 1650-1800 unit, with the inclusion of The Crucible since it fits the time period. I never liked American Lit when I was in school, but I'm finding it more interesting this time around. :)

Happy to hear you are enjoying teaching the older kids. A friend who made a similar switch a few years ago had trouble with the change in attitudes and switched back.
Reading anything interesting these days? Anything really good to recommend?
