CARNIVAL! (Backdated to last Friday)

[There seems to be a festive atmosphere all throughout Garden. Why? Because it's the Homecoming Carnival! The Garden Festival Committee has been hard at work all morning and when 1300 hours strikes, it's finally open for everyone to enjoy.

[Kate had been wandering the carnival when Edge's trio of booth's caught her eye. Oh, those she can do. The real question was which one first... Eventually she settles on the milk jug toss. The first ball she tests her aim with the object she's really unfamiliar with using. The second she almost knicks it. The third she hits the jugs in the middle, sending them flying.]

...Losing my edge.

Eh, no one holds a grudge anymore. I mean it was over 200 years ago, and we're kind of more powerful than they are now.

Airships, I'll bet.

[Just a little irritated at that.]

Um, not really. Other than the helicarrier there aren't that many airships...

Do you have an airship problem in your country or something?

[flirtninja]

Before the --- well, before we saved the world from everything, the Kingdom of Baron had developed its airship fleet so well that they were the main power in our world. And they weren't using it for the nicest ends.

Does anyone ever build a fleet of anything for good reasons?

Well, it started out as protection from monsters. More and more were appearing in the world.

What kind of monsters are we talking here?

[flirtninja]

Depends on where you were. Anywhere from imps to ogres and dragons. Baron was surrounded by the weakest monsters, Eblan the strongest.

[Blinks. Wasn't expecting Dungeons and Dragons type monsters, but hey her world's not exactly setting the standard for normal either.] So you're a bona fide monster hunter, your majesty?

[What, the ninja and king part didn't set that up?] Naturally. Living near the Tower of Bab-il, Eblan endures the most withering monster attacks.

[Hey, she's used to Tony Stark and skrulls and Norse gods, not kings and orcs and ninjas. Well... wait, she is used to the ninjas.] I really have to rethink my version of a king, because I thought they just sat around all day or something. [Unless they were Doctor Doom. But she keeps that thought to herself because she doesn't feel like explaining that nutjob.]

The ninjas of Eblan have always been something of a special case in that respect. But most rulers are skilled warriors as well! The King and Queen of Baron were my companions on our quest to save the world. The King of Fabul is their greatest warrior, who also accompanied my friends for a while!

Did you save it? The world, I mean.
