The new sign on our mailbox

Nov 27, 2006 11:35

Did you know that stealing mail is a Federal crime?

Did you know that the penalty for stealing mail is up to
5 years in jail and up to $250,000 in fines?

Are my boring textbooks and
letters from my mom
really worth it?

I would never, ever steal from you, no matter what.

Please put it back.

I'm sorry you ever had to post that sign. Other than mail theft, are you doing alright?

Doing very well. We got a Husky, a cute little minion of Satan named Kota. I swear she grows opposable thumbs when we aren't looking.

I've tried to email James, (his was the only email I thought I remembered) but it bounced (apparently, I didn't remember it well), so whenever you're not busy, if you could send your email info again, I'd appreciate it...

Anyhoo, I don't know if I already told you about this or not, but I had a friend who lived out there and made it his mission to do as much cool stuff as possible, so if you're still interested in looking up cool things to do, he'd know a huge list and be happy to share. I've already let him know I may be pimping him out as a source to you two, so the weirdness of contacting a stranger for itinerary suggestions should be drastically negated. Email me and I'll give you his info. I think James may have actually met him once or twice a long time ago.

My father could regale you with mail theft stories including the occasional postal service workers who were hauled off by the FBI.

Having your mail stole sucks.

I'm so sorry you are having problems with mail... I've been intending to get your address from your mom for a few weeks now.

I appreciate you wanting to get back in touch...but I have to say that I don't like the idea of you bothering my mom. And I also appreciate your friending me, agian, but without an introduction or a hello, it's a little wierd. Interesting the way technology finds people for you, eh?

Hope things are going well for you. Are you still in the stl area?

Yes, I still am in STL, still six blocks from your parents. I still see your mom at the grocery store every once in a while, I was going to just ask her the next time I saw her. But if you don't want me to, I won't.

I posted a comment when I friended you, I'm sorry, I should have done so again when you didn't respond. Sorry.

Sorry about that. I just have had some personal space invasions (i.e. the stolen mail) recently and I needed to draw some boundaries. It came out a little too rough though. Please excuse the grad student at the end of the semester.

Oh, sweetie, I'm sorry. That's some bullshit. Do you want me to come crack some skulls for you? I could really use the vacation, release of aggression, and I'd love to see you guys.

J/k. But for what it's worth... psychic hugs & much love towards you.

that fucking sucks. sorry honey. perhaps it's ouchy, but i have to ask how much the books are gonna cost to replace? i have to get my books in a few weeks and i know even the used versions are damn expensive for a textbook i'll probably never use again

the only actual book that got stolen was a used copy of a poetry book from amazon...I think it was $10. But Jay stopped getting netflix because of this...which stinks

you're welcome to come, but we don't know who's doing it

love to you
