Selfishness. He didn't know angels had that in their vocabulary.

Itachi couldn't help but let a sneer fleetingly cross his face, the amusement of sin rippling through his body like a small electrical charge. Falling, falling, falling. He could already imagine this little angel falling, plunging into the darken depths with out a second glance behind her. For what selfishness she fought for, Itachi will never come to understand, but it was a mutal feeling shared among them all.

And really. What did she know about selfishness? It was all together a complex concept that not everyone understood, yet Itachi could already read from his crimson eyes that there was this...justice in her movement that all angels seemed to show. It was immensely irritating, not to mention tiring to be flashed with the same holy glow all Heaven's residents never seemed to be tired boasting of ( ... )

But the Serpent did not sin. Adam did. Eve did.

Maybe even the angels did. But not the Serpent. The Serpent did exactly what God had designed it to do. Maybe it had been fate that had led Deidara to reveal what he shouldn't have.

Maybe it was kindness. Or stupidity. Or curiosity. Deidara had been so nice, so kind to her, Hinata thinks in a flash of revelation as Itachi latched on to her throat. All of a sudden she hated this strange creature that was inexplicably choking the life out of her, and not because he hurt Neji so badly, but because he was sneering at her.

He was looking down at her.

Why did everyone giving her that lookShe bucked against him, struggling frantically as she felt the sword slip from her grasp, falling against the ground with the tinkling sound of cheap plastic against stone, fires gone out. The world was slowly escaping her grasp as well, and her fingers clenched and unclenched in an effort to find the world again, Earth, that land she almost feels she doomed ( ... )

Itachi felt like flexing his fingers, felt like making the little angel writhe before him, sputtering and wings flapping helplessly like all his victims did. It was a thrill, always, but it was ever short lasting. It was almost boring (almost) to him now, as he watch the girl continue her struggle ( ... )

Calling for help was something she should be doing. She should be sending up a loud call for assistance, and someone would come. Maybe even the specific someone she'd call for.

But right now she was feeling just particularly sinful, so pride wouldn't hurt her much more, would it?

Hinata growled for possibly the first time...ever. Probably the last time ever. She hissed because that was the only darned thing left for her to do. She wanted to scream, could even feel it welling up in her throat, but she couldn't. She couldn't.

"End it..." End it before I get even more pathetic. Please.

He had expected something like this, though having thought that they were in a fight, he had thought perhaps he may not have had to been involved.

It was difficult not to be, though, when there was a note taped to one's forehead with a certain brand of request that really seemed rather ridiculous. Afterwards...we can talk, and then, address. What afterwards was she thinking of, Neji wondered? Had she listened to him not at all, noticed nothing about his general state of being when she'd found him half-dead in the clearing by that temple after his own meeting with Mr. Weasel?

Sometimes, Neji wondered if the Lord had created him so intelligent just so he would have difficulty connecting with other beings. Other times, he felt it was divine justice to be able to say, I told you so.

He really didn't want to, though. He didn't want to go to that address and face once again the fallen being that had nearly ripped his immortal soul to pieces. Neji wasn't a coward, but he had some common sense (as opposed to Hinata's apparent ( ... )
