homesick

So I was supposed to be working on at least two other things, and also my taxes, and then I read this prompt, and it made me cry tears of joy and piss my pants with glee and set everything aside and write this thing, which I'm not entirely sure what to make of. Some day soon I will go back to writing silly AUs.

this is so wonderful, i am sorry, I KEEP DESCRIBING ALL YOUR FICS AS "WONDERFUL" BUT THEY ARE :(((

i love them all, i love ariadne, i love eames, i love arthur, i love their jobs, i love how much Ariadne misses Indiana (as someone who also misses Indiana), and how much Arthur loves motion, and Eames trying to be his partner in every way but never actually working up the nerve to actually discuss it with Arthur, and Ariadne choosing to trust them all, and her red thread that loops them all together, oh my god.

this was amazing.

Thank you! I would probably be more upset if you were describing all of my fics as the opposite of wonderful (wonderless? terrible?); though I suppose then you could just stop reading them and I would be none the wiser.

Haha, that was delightful! I loved the way you characterized Arthur, and the way everyone interacted was so natural. You have such a wry, to-the-point writing style - I really like it! Thank you for this!

This was an excellent read, very insightful and I loved the slow burn between Eames and Arthur.

Thank you! I am glad the slow burn was--present, I guess. I kept rereading this as I was writing and thinking 'is this even eames/arthur? should it be gen?' And in the end I decided it was eames/arthur, obviously, but I don't completely trust my judgment--so, yeah.

OP here. This is so amazing. I wrote that prompt as a one-off observation, "huh, nobody lives in their home country," but you've taken it so far above and beyond anything I imagined. This is such a great read on Arthur. I love the fact that he piggybacks from job to job to job, never actually staying anywhere. And I love when you hinted that Ariadne is not really from Indiana and Eames isn't really from Leeds. I also really enjoyed the extraction on Arthur, especially the fact that it's two levels and the second one is a false awakening. It's confusing and unsettling. This is the first time I've seen an extraction from the mark's point of view before... so cool! Also, you had such a great characterization on Arthur, Eames, and Ariadne. I liked your Ariadne a lot, especially when she wanted to back out of the job in Auckland because she liked the mark. This is a great piece of writing.

Lovely! I am so glad; I really, really loved this prompt--am actually considering writing a sequel focusing on the same themes in the same 'verse from Ariadne's POV--and I am so glad you enjoyed the fill, anon. Thank you for coming over and commenting.
