So the Ducks finished off the Senators last Wednesday to win their first Stanley Cup. It was particularly cool because I was able to go to games 1 and 2 of the Cup Finals, which was an amazing experience. So I ended up taking only one area qual this time around, because two (and obviously three) are way too damn much to do in one shot. So I ran with the algebra qual since I was sure I'd pass it. Well, the grades came back today, and I passed algebra!!! :) 105/160 on that qual (it should've been a 120, since they zeroed a problem that I think was ( Read more... )

So grades are in, and despite my bitching about the analysis grade, the rest turned out very well. I got an A in algebra, an A in Number Theory, and an A- in Algebraic Topology. So grades were MUCH better than last quarter (where I had a B, B-, and a B+). Great time to get things working in my favor, since quals are next week ( Read more... )

So I got my qualifying exam scores back on Tuesday. I passed the Basic Exam, and I failed the Algebra exam. Oh well, I didn't need to pass algebra right away anyways, especially since I was going to take the class regardless. The Ducks season started yesterday against the Kings, and I can't possibly be more excited! For the first time since high school I'm able to see every game on TV (only 4 games this year will not be televised).
