DUCKS WIN!!

I'm on a slight emotional high after the Mighty Ducks (who will next season lose the "Mighty" in front of their name) swept a home and home series with the LA Kings (won in LA 6-2 on Saturday; won tonight in Anaheim 4-3 OT). I wouldn't call losing two games in a shoot-out to be "playing poorly." If you're just looking at the win-loss record, then it's not the best they could be doing, but as a fellow hockey fan, Adam, you should know that a team's quality of playing can't be assessed mainly by win-loss.

"Playing poorly" implies that their playing has been shoddy. All of the Avs' recent losses have been very close, and mostly in SOs.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but even losing in a SO in fine by me, because the Ducks are winning lately and making up 1 point at a time is still fine. You are correct about quality of playing and the Ducks have sufferred more for that than ANY other team in the league. But when we need extra points made up, I'll take a SO loss from the Avs as many times as possible (or if not the Avs, than whoever is in the particular playoff spot we need)

Don't worry though, your boys are going to win tonight (barring a total implosion). BUT, they will still have played more games. If the Ducks continue to play as well as they have been, the West needs to watch out, and as a fellow hockey fan you know that as well :).
