Very cute. And Catherine got what we all want to see.
If you keep on writing you should consider posting in public.
Your story is well written and the characters not out of place.
I fell in love with Detective Vartann the first time he appeared on the show. I know many have hung on to the comment he made in 'Big Middle', but honestly we all have our dislikes. I think it only added to his character, made him more human.

The only small thing I have to say is that this sentence is a bit not-Nick:
If we were concerned about being stared at, we wouldn’t have been sucking face here in the police station parking lot. We may not advertise but we’re not ashamed either.
I doubt he would say "the police station parking lot", it just seems too long somehow.

I hope that you keep up writing more Vartann stuff:-)

I thought this was very cute, and Catherine got the show we all want. HAHA "Sucking face" sent me back to college days in Texas, very appropriate. I enjoy Vartann, paired with Nick sent my wheels moving. Thanks!
