Fanvid Viewing

I really didn't want to make a post about this, but unfortunately I feel that it's only fair that I do.

It has come to my attention that while people are voting, they are not watching all of the fanvids. Over 30 people have now voted and there are vids that have only been viewed 5 times

Man, that a shame! I actually managed to watch all of them... sort of. There were three I admit I only watched half of.

I'm a quarter way through the videos right now, and I've just decided I won't vote until I'm done with all of them.

It's not a sprint, am I right?

Exactly! We've got until next Monday so why are people complaining? Just watch a few at a time, make a note of what you liked/marks out of ten or something, and watch some the next day.

How can you see the viewing numbers? Do you need to be logged into BAM?
I was tempted to stop watching a few, but left them on for fairness sake, most of them won me over and one of those is now in my top 5 which I'm still trying to narrow down.

I'm thinking people would be more receptive to doing that if there were more points for voting. Seriously. At about 3 minutes a vid with 26 entries, that's an hour and 18 minutes watching all of them; time some people don't have. Also, a lot of people have download limits to consider that this eats into. I'm making sure to give all the vids a fair shake but it's not really fun slogging through 26 vids for two points...

I agree with this completely. I am going to try to watch all the videos but just 2 points for voting doesn't equal the amount of time put into just watching all of them.

I'm sure that if you had made one of the videos you would be just a little bit disheartened if people skipped over your video just because they felt they weren't being awarded enough points for voting.

So if you feel that way, my solution to you is to just don't vote.

Does the counter thing only count it if you watch till the very end? Cause I usually stop them when I hit the credits...
(Oh and you have a type-o in the third paragraph, you have 'heard' instead of 'hard'. Sorry I just hate it when people don't tell me when I do it so I thought I'd point it out. :P)

Same here. There were a few that I only watched the first 2 mins of, but I did go through every one.
