Another summer ends, another school year begins... for some people, anyway. With a goodly number of the people I see on a regular basis gone off to school, and with them the distractions that generally take precedent over posting on Live Journal, I guess I'll start posting here again with some increased regularity ( Read more... )

You are definitely handling this better than I am. With everyone back at school and me being so far away...I just feel lonely. Oh, my phone is back on. Give me a call sometime.

One important thing for your mental health, I think, is to try to get out of the house for a little while each day. Taking a walk, going to see a movie, or any activity you enjoy can really improve your mood. Being sedentary for too long can often create feelings of stagnation and subsequently depression. Or, at least, that's what I've found to be true of myself.

Glad your phone's fixed. You'll be hearing from me; feel free to give me a call, as well.

Absolutely and 100% agreed. No matter how tired I am, I always try to take a walk or do SOMETHING away from my apartment each day, because the longer I spend cooped up here, the more trapped I feel. This is even more important now that I'm back in class, because for the first time in a long time, I have to actually SCHEDULE my relaxation time. Pushing myself physically gives me a much-needed mental break, which is why I plan to keep exercising regularly.

I saw Tim today, and tried to catch his attention, but he had his headphones on and I think was headed to class, so no dice there. Still, if I can get him to notice me, I'll definitely say hi.

Sounds like Tim. For future reference, he lives over at Towers, but I can't remember the room number for the life of me. I assume from your recent post that you'll be working this weekend, but if for some reason you're not, you're definitely invited to come up to Erie for the part of an as yet unspecified type.

Pretty much. It's not like I didn't have some inkling that this would happen while I was in school. I guess I did think that maybe I'd be qualified for something that didn't suck, but whatever. Hopefully that'll be remedied by this time next year, or at least be well on its way to being remedied.

So, have you started back at seminary yet? If so, how's that going for you?
