I like your metaphor about the race where you don't know when it's going to end or when the next aid station is. So true!
For me, when my labmate Gavin was here it was so much easier, because he was good at noticing when we achieved something and remembering to celebrate it. I've been trying to pick up that baton, but it's not easy. Sometimes it's hard to even notice when you've made an accomplishment, because all you see is how the data could have been better, or the instrument still has that annoying 60 Hz noise, or whatever.
Anyway, you rock and you're almost done, so I know you can get to the finish line!
