Title: Say it and it shall be so
Fandom: White Collar
Characters: El (pre-Peter/Neal/El)
Rating: PG
Warnings: Vague references to sex and issues of power imbalance
Spoilers: None
Word Count: 120
El lists the reasons in her head every night before she goes to sleep, like a mantra, like a lesson, like a prayer, counting them off on her fingers as if she's counting rosary beads; there’s her husband’s career, his reputation, the myriad moral issues and questions of consent and abuse of power, and of course her husband’s heart which will be so completely shattered when it ends, not to mention their marriage - which she thinks could withstand this, could withstand anything, but there’s no way to be sure - and El tells herself that it’s a long enough list, that there are more than enough reasons there to keep Neal Caffrey out of their hearts and out of their bed.
Second Place goes to Entry Number 008 by
paperclipbitch of Team Stilettos.
Fandom: Sherlock
Characters: Molly Hooper, John Watson
Rating: G
Warnings:
Spoilers: For The Reichenbach Fall
Word Count: 105
He isn’t dead, Molly wants to say to the uncertain half-steps that John takes now he’s lost the distraction that made him steady; he isn’t dead, it’s not what you think, but sometimes this is the only way are the words that stick to her tongue when he brings her cheap vending machine coffee, bitter and tasteless and numb as the silences that drag out between them, John thinking that they’re sharing grief and Molly feeling only absence, guilt, the weight of secrecy and all that trust wrapped around her wrists, her shoulders, her back, bending her double and ever so, so very, very tired.

Sharon Agathon dreams of the day when she will be accepted amongst the rest of the fleet, the day when she will be able to walk down the corridors of the Battlestar, eat in the meal halls, go to the showers, work out at the gym, wash her laundry, work on her raptor, and do other normal, ordinary, everyday, human chores without being stared at and pointed to, without having to hear the whispers and awful slurs thrown at her, without being afraid for herself and her husband; yes, she dreams of that day and knows that it will come.

Title: What could have been
Fandom: Once upon a time
Characters: Snow White with mention of Emma
Rating: PG
Warnings: none (except general sadness)
Spoilers: Up until ‘Lady of the Lake’
Word Count: 111
After Emma had backed away from her embrace, finally having admitted her anger and fear but still unsure of how to handle suddenly having a mother, a mother who loved her and who would have given everything to see her grow up, to be with her, Snow took her bow and shouldered her arrows, taking one last look at the desolate, dark nursery and for one second it seemed like everything was bathed in light - the crib was whole again, the cupboards unbroken and filled with shiny new toys and laughter filled the air, the laughter of a happy child, the remnants of what could have been, what should have been.
