I hate employee of the month. It is the biggest waste of time. At first I thought it was cool, you know, appreciating people who work hard and what not, shouldn't be anything wrong with that...

Then I saw who won the awards. Some of them deserved it, and for that I was grateful, but most of them have been far from good employees and some of them

Seeing the list of who has been nominated always made my jaw drop.

At Q, so far I think picks have been worthy and deserving. We don't see a list of who was nominated, just the letter/email that was written about them. I have yet to nominate anyone here at Q but mainly because of the people I know and work with are limited. :/

It is difficult for someone in my department to get employee of the month. We all do great work in our normal routines and that gets lost somewhere along the way.

I wish workers could be rewarded just for doing a great job at their job, not doing something others consider special.
