We're ok. We don't have power, which means no heat and no hot water, and PECO isn't expecting we'll have it back until sometime tomorrow at the earliest. The shop is fine

Just because it could be worse doesn't mean you can't be unhappy about the not-so-catastrophic bads. Sorry to hear things are rough.

Hoping PECO comes through for you sooner rather than later. It's quite understandable to be frustrated; yes, we could have it much worse, but suffice it to say, Sandy has been a true bitch to so many of us.

I know you are not trolling for sympathy, but you can have it anyway. I am very sorry about the fish. They were spectacular and interesting and whole lot of fun to have around. They were also living things that you and Neal were responsible for, and losing them is a blow.

And I am sorry that you have to miss Halloween, and other fun stuff with Mina. She will not be young forever, and you know that. It's good that you care that you will be missing these things. We would worry more if you didn't. If it would help, you could come down to our house whenever you want and trick or treat. Just let us know ahead of time and we will pick up some candy...

Which is to say, there is no reason why you can't come down to Media to trick or treat with her tonight...Might not be a good plan, but it's something to think about.
