Freedom of Islamic Religion...

Now...  I'm not a fan of religion...  I feel that it holds people back from personal acceptance and finding themselves..  But that's another thought for another day...  Because, while I do not care for religion itself, I fully support complete separation of church and state.  (However, I do support taxing Church income ( Read more... )

There's really nothing I can add that Dire and Xanie haven't said other than wearing an article of clothing that obscures the face (such as a mask or, in this case, burka) is illegal in many nations because it removes the most identifying feature of a person from view. That is the definition of security risk. You can't wear a mask into a bank, you can't wear a mask into a grocery store, you can't wear a mask within 50 feet of the White House perimeter fence (really you can't wear them in public at all in most states). This is no different.

Have a listen to the radio piece I sent you on Twitter, it's from this morning's Diane Rehm show and does well to present several viewpoints from Frenchmen, Muslim women, and Muslim men. And, of course, Diane Rehm. :D

I tried listening and was unable to commit the time...

That being said, I see your point and believe that you should not be allowed to obscure your face in certain places as noted. This is why women-only business establishments are so very popular within the Islamic culture.

In my opinion, you are not a fan of Religion because it would directly conflict with your overtly sexual lifestyle. Acceptance and "Finding Onself" can be found in the presence of God ( ... )

I wonder what it's like over there. In this country, men don't leer at exposed *faces*.

Interesting thoughts re: keeping things equal. Though frankly, I've not seen much evidence of attractiveness getting males anywhere in business. Heck, looking at most musicians and actors these days, it's far from a requirement. I've heard some straight guys actually resent attractive members of the same sex far more than women do.
