Over the weekend I picked up a card for Cafe Mystique, which is being constructed at 464 Castro Street. I don't think that I'm overly fussy about grammar and punctuation, but I took some damage from reading their ad. Here's what it says. I'll spare you the agony of their choice of typeface.

You crack me up. Everyone knows you would first use the Chicago Manual of Style to bludgeon the author of that prose, then press one of the aforementioned against one's forehead.

You missed the marketing point: This new cafe is so ethnic that its owners don't know English grammar rules.

When they interview potential wait staff, part of the job test is to read the flier. They won't hire anyone who makes any corrections.

I hope you weren't looking for a new job close to home.
