Could you breathe solely through your nose with the mask on? When I had this done, I couldn't do it. Apparently they didn't have the full face masks at that point, or this hospital just didn't have one handy... I left my sleep study in the same shape I was in before--with nothing.
Fortunately that wasn't an issue for me. I could breathe just fine. Unless I'm plagued with allergies, I don't see that this'll be a problem. There is no guarantee that I'll be put on a CPAP at home. That's up to the doctor to decide. I'm just hoping that if they do, it'll solve some of my issues.
You go through soo much for science, You are amazing, I remember this one time when they took me up in the spaceship and hooked all sorts of things onto me, boy it was crazy, I couldent get back to sleep with all of those creppy guys looking at me. They told me they were gonna probe me if I diddent go back to sleep, well let me tell you that was a crazy night, never been probed like that before =D, strange that I woke up in a frat the next morning.. I had the queerest taste in my mouth too.. Oh well.. Im rambleing, see you soon hopefully..
I must confess, this wasn't solely for the benefit of science. It was pretty much exclusively for me. The sleep study was requested by my doctor to diagnose and potentially treat a number of symptoms I've been having which could stem from chronic sleep apnea (a condition which causes a person to stop breathing while sleeping).
In other news, there was that time I was driving from Roswell to Albuquerque, that long stretch through the desert. Normally it would have taken several hours, but this one only seemed to take a half hour. I didn't mind the losing the time from a personal perspective, but for the next 3 days every time I farted this strange tin foil like stuff came out. Very disconcerting.
Yeah, I went through something very similar, but with less glue.
Shaved head, no padding, standard pillow, they expected me to sleep on my back, and they set all the wires to come together in a bundle at the ridge on the back of my head. If I'd known what was going to happen, I'd have told them to do a top-knot instead. I specifically told them to talk me through the setup procedure, and they did not do so. Grumble.
When I did my sleep study they hooked me up and I was almost asleep before I got to the bed. I slept great and when they woke me up to put the CPAP on I was like "hey, I was sleeping!"

And I couldn't sleep either, VERY uncomfortable.
