What the deuce?

I don't know how many of you out there are fans of the Nickelodeon show Avatar: The Last Airbender, but I am. Last semester, me and Travis, Kytri and John waded through all the episodes, drinking in each half hour of well animated, surprisingly deep yet charmingly simple kid's program. Wondering idly (as one does) yesterday, I went to the ( Read more... )

"We're making a new Sesame Street movie. Big Bird will be played by Danny Devito. It will be set in space. It will be hardcore porn."

If this happened, I would be empleasened beyond all belief.

my dad loves avatar. seriously. he sits on the couch and tries to get my little brothers to watch with him and they dont like it. so his excuse that he's watching it with them is......not real.
i've known about the movie for months dude, cos of my dad. he is super number one fan.

I'd watch it with your dad. I love Avatar. I've watched all the episodes.

I think you're being unfair to Shyamalan, I don't know what of his you've seen, but the twists for his first couple movies made perfect sense.

That said, I think you need to go see Lady in the Water, Shyamalan's last (twist-less) film, to understand how well and truly your favorite show is fucked.

For the purposes of non-ranting, I enjoyed the Sixth Sense. I thought the twist was fun and made the rewatch interesting. However, Unbreakable? The Village? Signs? What utter crap twists.

I say again -- if you get the chance to watch Lady in the Water, take it. I managed to take my whole family to it on opening night, and the reactions were superb. My dad was already irritated less than a minute and a half into the movie, he had a hilarious pissed-off face when it ended, my cousin decided to start text messaging his friends halfway through; my brother commented that everything about it was incredibly predictable, including the fact that it blew; and when the end credit title that said "Written, Produced and Directed by M. Night Shyamalan" came up, I heard someone behind me say "M. Night Shyamalan is a dumbass."

It is utterly classic, is what I'm saying.

I think i've seen all of those except his latest film... yes, village was predictable in advance, signs was just stupid... unbreakable i don't remember, and 6th sense was alright.

but i do like your analogy best. "So that's why they call you big bird..."
