Excellent game. Since I only know you through LiveJournal, I don't have a clue what major would be best suit you. I can tell you this though. You're a good writer, you have a sharp wit, and you're freethinking. That's a great recipe for success regardless of your major.
Now, let's play another round. If money was no object and future income unimportant, what would you do?
The funny thing is, is that I'm going into school with that very thought in mind. I know I'm not money driven. I'm not sure if I care whether or not I ever have a "career". I'm going for the soul purpose of learning more about what I want to know.
I was thinking...because its better to choose that I'd try at Liberal arts with a minor in philosophy or something. Or even religious studies. Not sure, however the philosophy of religion is pretty entriguing.
You are a woman after my own heart. Comparative religion and philosophy have always been my favorites. As for money, well my present financial condition betrays my lack of fiscal initiative.
I've always loved learning and making a buck is just to keep the roof intact and my kid in shoes. I don't fault people who go back to school just to make more money or get a promotion. Folks do what folks do. When I started back to school my advisor asked me why I was going to college. My answer didn't seem satisfy her. "Two things really. I want to learn and I want to be a better writer. The rest is just side story."
She signed my admissions ticket anyway and I took philosophy of science, logic, comparative religion, Japanese history, and creative writing. And I haven't looked back.
Sounds to me like you're on the right track. Can't wait to find out what you're doing.
