45+ Laus Deo +

Are there any out there who are celebrating the entire forty days of Lent? Any? I feel as though I would have more luck seeking out an echo.

In light of recent events, allow me to say that I have nothing to hide. I will tell no lies.

holier than thou, holy holy holy, father, no curse, sigh

I've never really understood the purpose of Lent.

Do you understand redemption? Sacrifice?

Yes, but I don't really see what God has done that I should give anything up for him. After all, he gave me red hair.

Red is a color found in nature. It's made and loved just as much as every color by the creator. You are a work of art to Him. God sent his one and only son to die for sin so that you don't have to.

They are the days in which a person purifies the soul in preparation for celebrating the crucifixion and resurrection of God's one and only son.

I do.

For forty days, one must give up a well liked activity or thing. A small sacrifice of sorts.

[Would be asking about Lent too, but got caught around that echo thing and is trying to wrap her key-embedded head around how that works]

But the echo always comes back, so...? Uh....

What's Lent?

It is a celebration and purification of the soul that takes place before Easter.
