There really needs to be more John/Mary out there, so this one was a welcomed addition to my small collection. I like how it tells the story of John and Mary, how they meet, how life tries to separate them with the war, and yet how they still stay together. I've seen a lot of these grouping from 1sentence that don't always make sense, but these are all very good.

These two are my favorites: "She laughs like a fool as she runs down the moonlit beach, John close in pursuit and threatening to put sand in her underwear as soon as he catches up." (Fool #21) and "The power goes out with the first storm of the season the night that Mary goes into labor, and John wonders if this isn’t another one of god’s little jokes." (Power #41). Lovely job on all.

I was a little bit stupid in that I didn't fully read the rules when I started, and you're allowed to change the word order - which I did not do - and that fact I missed it made creating a logical story that much more difficult. I'm glad that you think it worked anyhow, though!

Thank you for pointing out your favourites - it's always so interesting to see what speaks to other people.

oh god... that last one... whoa. Don't mind me, I'll be over their sobbing my heart out.

In other words, FANTASTIC. Sweet and poignant and just real

Thank you so much, and I'm sorry that it made you cry! (but only moderately! sometimes it's a good thing, right?)

The whole poem is gorgeous, but the ending stanza rocked the house:

John doesn’t believe in god, but he believes in Mary’s freckles across Dean’s cheeks and nose.

Lovely!! Thank you. :)
