Well...I didn't win. Not that I'm all that surprised, given there were well over 3,000 entries. Still, I gave it a shot. And really, that was more important to me than actually winning the contest. I'm going to assume that it counts: I made my first submission for paid work this afternoon. We're not talking short stories or essays, even those are in the works. I sent in an entry! I have to admit I feel all proud about it; other than fan fiction, this is the first attempt to send IN my stuff to be looked at. I'm nervous, but still excited. And keeping my fingers crossed!
