I read this book a few years ago and I loved it. I thought the girl was so awesome and everyone was so cool because they had a zine and I always wanted to have a zine. Now I've known too many people like the girl and I have my own zine, I guess that changed my opinion of it. The book is still well-written, but I don't like the characters anymore. The girl just strikes me as self-absorbed and snobby now, and all the "zine" stuff seems really pretensious. I don't mean I write better stuff, but I didn't really feel like that was an acurate representation of teenage zines....it seems like an adult trying to image how intelligent teenagers would write and not quite getting it. I still like the book, but I don't worship people like that anymore.
