Spotted a pair of Road Runners this morning while taking Tuggy for a walk. Went back out with my 450mm and the D80 and snapped some pretty good pics. Check them out here. Study: Film Industry Costly for NM
The study indicates that the city only gets 14 cents back for every dollar in tax breaks given to the industry.
With a $450 million budget shortfall this year, the study could cause lawmakers to question the use of rebates for film and television productions.

Went down to the Bosque del Apache NWR on Monday with a friend from high school and his family; a good time was had by all, though the bird count was not what it might have been. Woodpeckers... in Albuquerque?
So, are woodpeckers common in Albuquerque? Because I can't remember ever seeing them before, but this morning whilst taking Tuggy-dog for a walk, we ran across a couple of them in a tree. Meditations on A Christmas Carol
My only real ongoing Christmas tradition is watching Die Hard on Christmas Eve, but this year I decided that it's been too long since I've read Dickens' A Christmas Carol, and since I'm in a bit of Dickens mode anyway (having just read Great Expectations for the first time), I figured it would be worth reading it again.
