Spiritual Guidance

It occurred to me recently, that from the perspective of spiritual growth, and more importantly the avoidance of corrupting influences, it is a truly rare individual that is capable of providing spiritual guidance to others.  Indeed, those who are in a position to provide spiritual guidance to others are at much greater risk for "corruption" than ( Read more... )

I quite agree. It has always confused me that most spiritual leaders believe that theirs is the only path to enlightenment. We aren't that narrow-minded about other aspects of our lives, why this one? For example, I love life in the city, but my brother would be miserable living here. There are as many paths to spiritual enlightenment as there are people seeking it. A true teacher brings that knowledge to the table. Sadly, belief means power, which leads to... well, everything wrong with the world.
