Life changing moments

We like to think that life changing moments, those special moments that happen in our lives that cause us to take sudden sharp turns in the path that we tread, are apparent in the decision. That the moment is somehow laden with meaning, and we could not possibly miss the significance even if someone pounded us upside the head with it.

I've often found that the big changes in life aren't conscious decisions but rather reactions to things that happen. Often, the big stuff is going to happen, no matter what you do. It's what you do (or don't do) after the big stuff that's important. Of course, my recent experiences are not necessarily typical so I might not be a good example.
