"Today, in honor of Halloween, we will be pausing on our progress of fish and frog, and revisiting our inanimate to animate object transfiguration methods." He smiled at the class. "So... from pumpkins to glass carriages to mice."

"Does everyone remember the sequence?" he asked, wondering if they remembered the incantations from their OWL years. "Let's all try together."

Vaughan opened one eye and looked somewhat warily at Professor Peregrine at the mention of Halloween, forgetting, in his typical sleepy state, that usually this was teacher to be trusted. He perked up considerably, however, at mention of inanimate objects, and through Deirdre a huge grin as he opened his other eye, straightened up, and looked around for his wand.

He gave a short laugh at the specific assignment. Cinderella. CUTE. "Got it," he said firmly, looking at his pumpkin he hoped ferociously. "At least," he added in a mutter, "I remember the sequence. The SPELLS not so much."

"All together? Brilliant idea, really," Vaughan continued, not pausing before raising his voice again. "I'll count us off, shall I? READY YOU LOT?! One...two...three...GO!"

Brilliant.

Sean did not remember this. At all. Considering his O.W.L year was basically a barely-remembered blur of madness and scariness and headaches. BUT. He was very charmed with the concept of their theme and excited by Vaughan's shouting.

And all together would make it easier, so when Vaughan counted them off, he happily shouted, "Lalalala!" in the hopes that the rest of the class would drown him out and he would look like he knew what he was doing.

Deirdre sat in her seat, diligently copying down what Professor Peregrine was saying without really registering what it meant. Then she blinked when Vaughan seemed to suddenly wake up. Together? What? Oh. Huh.

She tried to recall the right incantations from fifth year, but she couldn't seem to. Then she realized she'd forgotten what the sequence they were going for was, anyway. "Oh, dear..." she muttered to herself as she pulled out her wand and blinked at her pumpkin.

She suspected this wasn't going to go well... When Vaughan counted them down, she closed her eyes just as he shouted "GO" and hoped that whatever happened, no one got hurt.

"Today, we will be pausing on our progress of fish and frog, and revisiting our inanimate to animate object transfiguration methods. Just to test your memories of your older transfiguration incantations." He smiled at the class. "So... from pumpkins to glass carriages to mice."

"Does everyone remember the sequence?" he asked. "Let's begin."

First in the room, Missy sat down quickly, waving a greeting to the teacher. She paid attention to Professor Peregrine's words, and looked down at her desk, frowning slightly. She loved Transfiguration, and she was trying to recall those incantations. But maybe it was a pretty old spell or something, because she honestly couldn't remember any such incantation. She felt a little bad, if only because she liked the subject and felt disappointed in herself, but decided on waiting for someone else to answer his question.

She looked around for Harper, her partner for Transfigurations, and stared at the pumpkin at her desk. Missy let a smile twitch at her lips at the allusion to Cinderella, and she vaguely wondered if Professor Peregrine was Muggleborn or something. She made a mental note to ask him later.
