Welcome back*hugs* Sounds like you had a good time. Pretty pieces that you got, even though I don't buy many pieces they are always nice to look at!I was sad to hear that Fenton is closing. I have a few pieces I was thinking of selling on e-bay, perhaps I should keep them. Have fun with the camera:)

The picture of the vase does not do it justice. It is amethyst in color.
If I were you, I would hang on to your Fenton pieces. Unless there is some kind of miracle, the closing of the factory should add value to what you have. Give it a couple of years. Seems not everyone knows that they are closing and when word gets out collectors will start to pay premium prices. This could take a few years, but it would be worth the wait.
Still haven't read all the instructions with the camera. ;)

very beautiful!!! And oh..what a dear kitty!!! Looks just opposite of my two..mine are white and black but the white is the main color!
Your vacation sounds like it was just wonderful! I wouldve loved to have gone to all the places you did! I love the historical things, and that man portraying Jefferson wouldve been so interesting! Its a beautiful part of the country for sure! Its been a long time since Ive been out that way! Glad you had a great time!

Thanks. We have been there several times and still have not tired of the place. Each time we discover something new. The Jefferson portrayal was new to us this time. The man doing it looked like some of the old pictures of Jefferson. The whole thing was so realistic that it was boggling!

Our kitty came to us via some little girls finding her and thinking she belonged to us. We already had a black and white cat. Baby had been dumped on our street. Poor little thing had not even been weaned! Of course we kept her, how could we not. Such a small bundle. How people can just dump animals is beyond me!

Thanks. The vase isn't lit well. It is such a pretty color of amethyst. Have to practice with my new digi camera.

Your cat looks like a real character - very cute. Glad you enjoyed your break and your glass pieces are nice. You have good taste! The King's Arms Tavern sounds like an English pub!

Oh yeah, my cat is a corker. She follows me where ever I go when outside, like a puppy would. I have a rolling cart I sit on to pull weeds and she likes to lay under it for the shade. I have to check if she is there before I roll onto the next plant!
The King's Arms Tavern existed in colonial America. Williamsburg Foundation restored it to it's original condition and opened it as a restaurant. The main attraction of Williamsburg is that all the people working there are dressed and behave like they live in the 1770's. Great way to learn how people lived way back then.
The vase isn't really shown off well in that shot, the amethyst color is so beautiful. I need to practice different ways to light it.
