basically, to try and stop this big rape issue in south africa, this crazy lady has invented a condom-like device that women are supposed to wear inside of them. there are barbs inside that dig into the perps penis when he pulls out, and then he has to get the "rapex" surgically removed. check out this article.

but as a woman i can't help but try to imagine trying to put that thing in or take it out without hurting myself.

or having to wear that thing allll the time, since you never really know when you're going to get raped.

Have you ever read Neal Stephenson's book Snow Crash? There's a device in the story called a dentata which is interestingly similar to (though probably more effective than) the "rapex".
