A few things: 1. I like the way you played with the topic. 2. That's not what I expected Jim to do either. 3. In fact, I absolutely loved the ending because it was COMPLETELY unexpected.

Thanks so much for the awesome compliment! I would have to say I think this was the hardest one to write - I was feeling quite a bit of burnout from the triad run off. ;-}
LOL, I know what you mean. I put everything I had into my round two piece so I didn't feel like I was able to put as much into my main entry this week.
That wasn't what I expected Jim to do, either! But it's what most people would/should do. I didn't tweak to the fact that something was really WRONG until he started paring his nails. Excellent twist ending. I loved this!

But... copy editing:
"the Carpathian mountainside" => "a Carpathian mountainside"? (I imagine there's more than just the one...)
"a section of forests" => "a section of forest"?
"trail of drool made it’s way" => "trail of drool made its way" (this one I'm sure about!)
Really wasn't expecting the ending. I thought you might be aiming for something more sweetly humorous, but this is much better!
