embedded ubiquitous conformity

I was just wandering through the living room as someone in my family was watching an X-men rip-off TV series. It was one of those 'emotional' moments about the person talking about how great their group was because they finally fit in, and something about this phrase struck me ( Read more... )

One can hardly help but fit in somewhere. Every thesis has its antithesis, and one cannot reject both, or even find a viable third way, without risking conforming to some group or other.

It wasn't quite the fact that by doing any action that you are conformed to a group simply because they do similar things, but the concept that you cannot be comfortable except for in a group where you are conformed to the other members that I was disagreeing with.
