Tragic and sad month...

Around the 30th of May, we had a family party out at my brother's house. My sister was here visiting from Ohio, and hadn't been here for several years. My mom noticed her right leg swelling up. She had been complaining of various ailments, mostly stomach pain, for about 3 months. She chalked it up to a stubborn stomach bug that wouldn't go away

Enyo -- I'm well aware how lucky we were that she had to suffer for a short time. It could have been so much worse :(

Marlyn -- We are all doing ok, I think it hasn't really hit me yet and I'm waiting for the emotion bomb to drop on me. This whole time it seems like I've been in "management mode" with staying at the hospital, planning the funeral, etc. and it kind of still seems unreal. With Ivy thankfully it seems true that kids bounce back so easily. She misses Grandma but she has seemed to accept that it's a good thing that she doesn't hurt anymore.

Oh sweetie I am so sorry for your loss. I know how tough it is. My grandmother is going thu the same thing now. She has gone thru so much chemo, medicine and dialysis. I love having her around still but it is selfish cause I know she is in pain. Such a hard thing to go thru with small children too. I hope my girls will be able to cope as well as Ivy did.
