Elley's dorm mates had shut Elley's alarm off so she could sleep either. It may have been because they thought a person should sleep in on their birthday or that her excitement is now so welcome so early. Either way, Elley liked the gesture

She barely made it into the common room before Jake grabbed her around her waist and lifted her up. "Happy Birthday, gorgeous."

He didn't get much excited about his own birthday (it was too close to Christmas), but he always (usually) got very into Elley's.

"Yay!" she squeeled, kicking her legs back in the air as she wrapped her arms around him.

"I'm so excited."

"You're always excited," Jake laughed and set her down on her feet.

"So, I have good news and bad news."

"What?" she asked, already withdrawing and going all doe eyed.

Jen had been sitting in the Common Room all morning, knowing that Elley wouldn't be sleeping too late today. She had been dozing off a bit when she heard running footsteps from above. She immediately spun around, her hair whipping her face a bit. As soon as she saw Elley, her mouth opened with a wide smile on her face.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" Jen shouted, getting up and running over to Elley with a hug. She had just realized that she probably just woke up half the house, but didn't care much.

"Jen!" Eleanor squealed, not being able to contain herself. She wrapped her arms around the girl, laughing. Even though it was such a crummy day out, Elley didn't mind too much. As long as the next day would be nicer.

"Hi!" Jen giggled into the hug. She pulled back for a moment and put her hands on Elley's shoulders, shaking her forward and backward.

"How's your day?!" she insisted.

"Great!...For the ten minutes I've been awake," she said, giggling.

"I just got these pearls from my Papa."
