"You'll always be beautiful to me, Fred," Giles murmured as her lips pressed against his. He wrapped his arms around her and slowly deepened it. When they parted, he gave her a loving smile before brushing the hair off her face. "Fred, I think I

When Cordelia appeared, Fred's eyes opened wide at her comment, but before she could tell her that she liked what Rupert was doing, she was off on a schpiel about how she had done well and was now being sent on a second assignment and she had to leave almost immediately. She looked over at Rupert, feeling her heart plummet, suddenly worried that she wasn't going to be allowed to do what she had promised...what she had thought she could do

Giles stopped when Fred told him to, and turned around. He listened to Cordelia as she gave Fred permission to take him with. Blinking his eyes, he couldn't believe that Fred had been right - they was a reason he'd been his first assignment. It had been fate which brought them together, and it seemed the same fate was going to keep them together.
When Cordelia popped out, Giles took Fred's outreached hand. "I think she did, love," he whispered. He looked to the floor, remembering what he'd wanted to say before Cordelia had shown up. Now he didn't know if he could, even though he knew what he felt was real. "Fred...I-I--"
Before he could finish, there was a knock on the door and he went to answer it. It was one of the neighbors, concerned over the noise they'd heard. Giles assured them it was all right and they left. He turned and looked at Fred again, and sighed. "I suppose we have to figure out how to get to Canada now," he quietly said.
Grasping his hand in hers, Fred looked at Rupert as he stared down at the floor, feeling conflicting emotions coming from him as he tried to say whatever was on his mind. She knew it had something to do with her, but she couldn't say what - she was still learning to understand what she was sensing

A smile crept over Giles' face. He was glad Fred felt the same way, and hadn't laughed at him. He kissed her deeply and ran his hands up her sides. "I'm quite glad you feel the same way, or I would've felt like a dolt for bringing it up," he said before softly caressing her face. "My Angel." Leaning forward, he softly kissed his lips.
Giles pulled her down on the bed with him and held her against him. "We should sleep so we're ready to go in a few hours. I think we should go as soon as he opens. That way we can spend a bit of time with him before he becomes busy with customers," he suggested as he continued to run his fingers through her hair.
He reached over and turned the light off, and snuggled down in the bed. "Do you think this job has any benefits? Like paid holidays?" he asked with a cheeky grin. He nuzzled against her neck, happy that he was there with her.
Fred returned Rupert's smile as she continued pressing her palm to his face, almost afraid to stop touching him, not wanting this moment to end. "Don't ever feel like a dolt or an idiot or...a git," she told him, remembering the word that Wesley had used sometimes. "You're my...my Rupert."
She allowed him to tug her down to the bed and snuggled against him, resting her head in the crook of his shoulder. As he spoke about getting some sleep, she realized that if he kept doing what he was doing, she was definitely going to fall asleep there in his arms.
Once he turned the light off, she laughed when he asked about there being any benefits to the job. "Well, I don't know about," she told him softly, "since I don't know if I do even get paid. But if I can figure out that transporting trick, I might be able to take you to some really cool vacation spots."
She yawned and cuddled a bit closer, closing her eyes. "I'm so glad you're here with me," she told him as she drifted off to sleep.
When Fred drifted off the sleep, Giles laid and watched her sleep for a bit. He couldn't remember a time in his life where he'd felt this way about someone else. Granted, he had dated a few girls here and there, and then there were the "groupies" that followed Ethan and him about in London. He also knew he loved Jenny, but not even that compared to the feelings of euphoria he felt at the moment.
Closing his eyes, he found himself slipping into a deep sleep. Unlike other nights, where he would dream of his failures, Giles dreamt of light and happiness. He didn't want the dreams to end but he forced himself to wake up when he felt it was time to.
Fred was still in his arms, and he smiled at that. Leaning down, he softly kissed her lips. "Time to wake up, love. We have about an hour before we have to be at the shop," he quietly said.
Sleeping in Rupert's arms was much different than the sleep she had experienced after she had died. That had been long, dark and dreamless. This was warm and light, and she knew she dreamed even though she couldn't remember what exactly it was about though she knew Rupert was there, kissing her and telling her wake up...
It was then that she realized that part of it wasn't a dream, and she opened her eyes to find beautiful green eyes looking down at her. "Hey there," she said softly, smiling up at him as she wrapped her arms around him. Part of her didn't want to get up from where they were, wanting instead to just stay there with him, enjoying the time with him.
"I wonder how far it is to the shop," she said, wondering how long they had until they had to get up. She shook her head, though, realizing that if they only had an hour, they probably should get up. "Guess we should shower and change into what Cordy left for us. But first..."
Giles held Fred against him, the warm water was starting to cool but he didn't care. "It's all I ask for, love," he whispered against her wet hair. He wanted to stay there with her forever but he knew they had other things to do. They had a person to save, and they needed to do that first. They could chat later.
Reaching back, he turned off the water and stepped out of the shower before helping Fred out. He handed her a towel before picking one out for himself. Giles wrapped it around his waist and walked out into the main room. He picked up the clothes Cordy had packed for them and dried himself off before putting them on.
He then went to the phone book and looked up the address of the shop. "It's about six miles from here. Should I call a taxi or will you be taking us again?" he asked, trying to hide his excitement over seeing her wings again.
Resting her head against his chest, she listened to his heart beating for several moments. She was sure that as long as he was with her, they would be able to take care of anything that the Powers threw their way

Giles took the credit card and placed it into his trousers. He wondered if it was something he had to keep all the time now, or would they get a new one every time they had a new assignment? And what about an ID? Or a wallet? Suddenly he felt something on his back pocket and pulled it out. It was a wallet with an ID and a few other things.
He was about to say something to Fred when he saw her wings pop out. There was something about seeing them that turned him on and he almost felt himself stir. When Fred held out her hand for him, Giles took it and couldn't help but to moan when the wings wrapped around him and then popped out of the hotel room and into a back alley.
"I think this is the back door for the shop," he said, stepping from out of the wings. He took Fred's hand and walked her around to the front of the store. It was indeed the shop they needed to be at. "We should get this over with." He pushed the front door open, and a little bell rang above it.
When they reappeared, Fred was glad that they were in the alley as she could only imagine trying to explain to people why they had showed up out of nowhere and why she had wings. As Rupert stepped away, mentioning they were at the shop's back door, her wings folded back and disappeared. When that happened, they looked like any normal couple in the world, especially as they walked together hand-in-hand to the front of the shop and walked inside

“You’re right. If we can figure when the shipment is coming from, then perhaps we can stop it before it gets to the shop. I’m quite sure his girlfriend will be there, waiting for them,” Giles said before he took a drink of his tea. Now they just needed to find the local library so they could study the city’s history. Looking around, he saw one of the shop’s employees cleaning off a nearby table.
“Pardon me,” he said, looking at the young woman, “but could you possibly tell us where the local library is?”
“Go two blocks east,” she said, motioning toward the pavement outside, “then when you get to fourth street, go north. You can’t miss it. It’s the biggest building on the block.” She then glanced down at her watch. “They open in about ten minutes.”
“Thank you,” Giles politely said. The woman nodded and went back to the counter to help another customer. Giles turned and looked at Fred. “Do you want to walk there or would you rather use your wings?”
Fred was quite sure that Rupert was right and that the girlfriend would be right there. Getting the books before they arrived would keep them from having to deal with both her and anyone else she had there with her as well as the delivery people, whoever they were. She wondered briefly if the people making the delivery would be demonic, and if so if they would be Pylean. If they were, Fred knew some ways to deal with them; otherwise, they'd be playing it by ear

“That’s sounds perfect,” Giles said as he stood from the table. He was a bit disappointed he wouldn’t see the wings but knew it was safer if they walked to the library. “And I’ll distract Bedford so you can look at his computer, or whatever you need to do.” He helped Fred up and they went back to Bedford’s shop

As Rupert distracted Bedford by getting him to tell him about some artefacts in one of the showcases away from the back of the shop, Fred watched for a moment to make sure they were deep in conversation. Then silently, she slipped into the hallway leading to the back office
