*Picks it up and looks underneath for the rest of it* Slave!Five ftw. In my AU which branches off your own the Master puts him in a Leia outfit. You can't tell me he doesn't.
This Master doesn't even know what Star Wars is. Yet. He's not grown up trying to impress the Doctor with his wide-ranging knowledge of human Pop Culture. It's a bit:
Doctor: Like Alice, I try to believe five impossible things before breakfast. Master: Well, I--oh hold on. *furiously googles quote, buys ebook for his kindle* Okay, where were--where'd you go? Oh god dammit, Doctor.
Aha. I love the idea that when he properly realizes he'd really like to shag the Doctor, he'll be INTO IT. "Look I've bought you a whole closet of lingerie, really, you /do/ have to agree to this whole sex with me thing."
Yes, tragically I meant 'please help name my 25,000 word slave-fic AU.' I'm sorry. Probably you thought 'I'm choosing the title of the next the Hours!!' Nope. Porn-laden slave fic AU. A big sorry to all the friends who have to put up with this shit. :p
Yeah, this is a Doctor who's never had anything evisceratingly, personally, emotionally bad happen to him. The majority of canon companions and adventures (with their various 'augh, trauma' issues) all still hold, but there's no big formative balagan re: the Master in his past which still informs his character. Yet.
You're dangerous! I don't even like slave-fic and yet I can't wait for more...
Nice to have the two of them not know each other yet, both of them still being so pure (well... somewhat). I can hardly wait for some debauchery to happen there. ;)
Yeah, there is a weird innocence to it? The Master's just this guy who likes to rule shit: pre-Doctor, he doesn't seem any madder than your average historical conqueror? But yes, stay tuned for debauchery. :p
so glad this has finally been dusted off and (will be) finished, for i like it very much indeed. particularly the master as a competent emperor type, though obviously it makes his genuine predicament all the more embarrassing when you think about it.
someone else said adams-y and so it is clearly the truth. as well as just the dialogue and stuff, and the basic very interesting AU-scenario, i love that adamsy nature of this thing - you're clearly having a lot of fun with the prose. or rather you seem to be, but adams wasn't having a lot of fun either. all the stuff about the thane is pretty priceless (like his rings!) though rereading it just now i did note that he 'signed and resigned himself', which i assume should more properly be 'sighed'.
Mm, thanks. And is it sadder if he's good at this and then the doctor fucks it all up or if he never even gets a chance to be properly good at this because 'OMG, THE DOCTOR!' ?
It's odd because I haven't actually READ any Adams in ever, so--why the voice? I don't even think I was listening to Dirk Gently when I was writing the initial bit? Ah, I feel this prose is still a bit too thick, actually--flow's an issue? But yer, I like those bits too, thanks. :) And will fix the typo.
